After hiking + canoe-ing: “I might have nightmares” - Mom

After visiting Calgary and watching the Cirque Du Soleil Show (part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDG_Uw1IWRk) ...we headed off to Banff and what an adventure that was. Me and my mom, we’re city gals. Well, I’m a city gal, she’s a suburban mom.

What was supposed to be a short hike around Lake Louise ended up being a 12km medium to hard hike up to the tea house. And as you can tell by our attire, we are not hikers. But we managed! My mom wasn’t sure if she’d have to be air lifted out of there at some point (she was half kidding but like, also half not cuz you know, moms). We also went canoe-ing for an hour, despite mom not wanting to, but she pulled through, cuz I mean, we had to.

So we took the scenic route to Banff National Park where we visited: Lake Louise, Moraine Lake. We also checked out Emerald Lake (in B.C.) and then Johnston Canyon. Good thing we went from most difficult to easiest otherwise my mom would have never continued (lol). It was really fun and now my mom gets to show that off to everyone that she did a pretty extensive hike! The waters of each of these lakes were insanely beautiful it was pretty unreal and ranged from opaque green to turquoise blue, truly magnificent. I get why people love coming here now.
