I’ve been testing the Wuben E7 and G5—two tiny lights that punch way above their weight. From brightness to build quality, these aren’t just flashy little gadgets—they’re proper tools built by a lighting company, and once you get a real flashlight like this… you won’t want to go back to your phone light again.
We all have lights on our phones, so why carry an EDC light?
Because when you really need light—on a hike, during a blackout, fixing something in the dark—your phone light isn’t cutting it. The Wuben G5 looks like a little lighter, but kicks out up to 400 lumens with two bulbs (white + RGB). The Wuben E7? That’s up to 1800 lumens and even converts into a headlamp. This is proper brightness in a palm-sized tool.
I used the E7 while camping, and now I keep it packed in my Alpaka EDC pouch. It’s bright, rechargeable, and even has a 5-year warranty (battery included!). You can even buy replacement batteries separately on Wuben’s site or Amazon, which I appreciate. The beam steps are a bit jumpy—I wish there was a smoother middle range—and there’s no red light, which would be great for preserving night vision, but honestly? This is a flashlight on your head, not a soft headlamp. Super powerful.
